The Bar Harbor Inn is a non-smoking property. Smoking in the guest rooms and on the balconies is prohibited. Disregard of this policy may result in a $250 cleaning fee. By Maine State Law, you must be 30 feet from any entrance to smoke. We offer designated smoking areas in the parking areas and ask that you use the cigarette disposal containers that are provided. The property map provided indicates the designated smoking areas. Marijuana is ONLY legal in Maine if you are at a private residence. Marijuana is NOT allowed in public or on Bar Harbor Inn property.
Pets of any kind, other than service animals as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act, are prohibited in all buildings and in the pool area on property. Disregard of this policy may result in a $250 cleaning fee.
For your convenience, we offer secure storage for your bicycles if you do not wish to leave them on your car. Please call Guest Services, and they will have our Bellman store your bikes. When you are ready to use them, call Guest Services and our Bellman will bring them to you.
Our housekeeping department provides cribs and roll-away-beds for an additional fee of $25 per night. Please call Housekeeping (dial 440) or the Front Desk (dial 0) for any additional housekeeping requests.
We offer a limited on-site laundry service. Each item or pair (socks for example) is $3. We will wash, dry, and return your laundry to your room. Please note that we do not iron. We do not accept items made of wool, silk, satin, suede, leather or any item that specifies “Dry Clean Only” on the care label. Your laundry bag and signed form (found in your closet) must be delivered to the Front Desk. Items dropped off by 2pm will be delivered to your room by 8:30pm. Items dropped off after 2pm will be delivered to your room by 10am the following day. The Bar Harbor Inn is not responsible for removing stains, running colors, shrinkage or other damages. If there is a ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign on your door, we will hold your laundry at the front desk for you to pick up at your convenience. We do not have an ATM machine on property however there are two banks located at the end of the Field Road next to the Bar Harbor Inn. Please see the property map for exact locations.
Board games and lawn games are complementary to borrow. Pick up and return is at the front desk.
We store many commonly requested items at the front desk, such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, shower caps, etc. Just ask! Also, Tylenol, Advil and a variety of basic needs are available in the Gift Shop.
